Brilliant as a katydid, this enameled fine silver leaf hangs on a 20-inch sterling chain. The leaf itself is about 2.5-inches long.
Vitreous Enamel is essentially glass that has been fused to the metal beneath it. Several fine layers of enamel were applied and repeatedly fired to 1400° F to achieve the beautiful finish you see here.
